The house jointing is tight and very secure. Visit the Chinese roads contractor's office at Kasarani opposite Warren concrete and see the real house. Ask for a lady called Kate who is the receptionist there-she will gladly show you around.
A 4 bedroomed house will cost 1.5 million kenya shillings.

A couple of questions:

how secure are these houses, considering we our countries state of security?

How much would it cost overall to put up a regular 4 bedroom house on a 1/8 plot using steel SIP, and relatively good finishing?

SIP stands for Structural Insulated Panel. This means that the wall and roof panel is structural in that it serves as the frame of the house.
It also has insulation material in between. In Kenya, rising cement and overall construction material costs are making house construction very expensive. This SIP technology reduces the cost by 50%.

These houses are already here in Kenya. At Kasarani, opposite Warren concrete, you will see a Chinese road construction company offices. These offices are built with the same technology. The company that supplied the SIP panels to the Kasarani project is the same that will supply to your house project.
You can visit the offices and ask to see a lady called Kate at the reception who will gladly show you around.

These houses are strong and are designed to withstand severe winds, earthquakes and any other harsh climatic conditions to ISO Standards.
The company that manufactures them is ISO9002 Certified.
You can extend a stone house with this.

The panels are very light weight so they can be used to do the 1st floor of a stone house.
